Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Every Other Weekend
We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. This position is every other weekend and requires someone who is committed to providing high-quality support and care to individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities.
ScheduleEvery Other Weekend:
- Friday: 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Saturday: 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM
- Sunday: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Position Overview
The DSP will assist clients with daily living tasks, community involvement, personal care needs, and maintaining a safe, supportive environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, patient, and able to work independently while following established care plans.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support and supervision according to individual service plans
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, and meal preparation
- Support clients in community activities, appointments, and skill-building tasks
- Maintain accurate documentation, notes, and reports
- Ensure client safety and follow all agency policies and procedures
- Communicate effectively with team members, families, and supervisors
- Be available for on-call needs when required
- Uphold professional boundaries, confidentiality, and a respectful environment
Requirements
- Prior DSP or caregiving experience required
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable personal vehicle with current insurance, registration, and all required documentation
- Clean and clear background check
- Ability to lift, assist, and perform physical tasks as needed
- Strong communication skills and dependability
- Must be comfortable working independently and handling emergency situations appropriately
- Must be available for scheduled weekend shifts and on-call needs
Preferred Qualifications
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Training in crisis intervention or behavior support
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
