Responsibilities
- Safely operate various types of vehicles including shuttle buses, limousines, and commercial vans to transport clients to medical appointments, pharmacies, or community events.
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting vehicles, providing courteous and respectful customer service at all times.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure safety and compliance with transportation regulations.
- Communicate clearly with dispatchers, clients, and healthcare providers to coordinate schedules and address any special needs or concerns.
- Handle heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility aids or luggage, ensuring comfort and safety during transfers.
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle condition in accordance with company policies.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety procedures diligently to guarantee a secure transportation experience for every passenger.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience in patient transport services is highly preferred.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or commercial driver; familiarity with paratransit is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with diverse clients and team members.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including moderate lifting and assisting passengers with mobility challenges.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance daily checklist, basics and safety protocols to ensure optimal vehicle operation.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
