Direct Support Worker

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Worker to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and assistance to individuals with disabilities or special needs, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. Duties

• Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
• Monitor and record vital signs, ensuring any changes in health status are communicated promptly.
• Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote socialization and community involvement.
• Provide patient observation to ensure safety and well-being at all times.
• Support clients with mobility needs, including heavy lifting when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients, adhering to health and safety standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to develop personalized care plans.
• Document client progress and any significant changes in behavior or health.

Qualifications

• Certification in CPR is preferred.
• Experience in long-term care, assisted living, or senior care is highly desirable.
• Strong skills in patient monitoring and observation techniques.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• A background in social work or related fields is a plus.
• Must possess a caring attitude and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in healthcare or support services are beneficial.
