Summary of Position
As a Senior Structural Project Engineer, supporting our Architecture and Engineering business unit, you will be responsible for designing and managing structural engineering projects from conception to completion. Projects will be located throughout the U.S. and will include steel, concrete, pre-stressed concrete, timber, and masonry. As part of a multi-disciplined firm, you will be coordinated with Site/Civil Engineers, MEP Engineers, Architects, and Construction Project Managers. You will be responsible for the production of structural engineering construction documents while adhering to client requirements, code requirements, and site adjustments.
Responsibilities
- Conduct site visit investigations as well as generate reports/recommendations based on findings.
- Produce design plans, calculations and reports with limited direction.
- Coordinate with subconsultants, provide client interaction support, establish and maintain phase and task level budgets as well as schedule project phases and tasks.
- Schedule production staff and lead them through tasks, coordinate and assist with addendums, RFIs, and change orders.
- Assist in coordinating the work of a multi-disciplined team throughout the design development and contract document phases of a project.
- Other related responsibilities as necessary to fulfill the objectives of this role.
Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering required
- 8 years of experience with general building structural production, preferably commercial projects such as retail, restaurants, grocery, financial, and/or convenience stores.
- PE License required
- Revit, MS Office required
- AutoCAD, MathCAD, Enercalc & Risa 3D experience is a plus
Work Location
This can be either a remote or hybrid (1 or 2 days a week in the office) position based out of the following Core States Group offices: Naperville, IL, or Charlotte, NC. If remote, must live in IL or NC.

Salary : $110,000 - $140,000
