Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Travel Registered Nurse - House Supervisor to lead and coordinate nursing operations across multiple healthcare settings. Duties
- Provide immediate oversight of nursing teams across various departments, including medical-surgical units, ICU, emergency medicine, and geriatrics.
- Coordinate patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation to ensure accurate and timely care.
- Supervise clinical activities such as IV infusion, catheterization, ventilator management, and sterile processing to uphold safety standards.
- Lead discharge planning efforts by collaborating with case management, family members, and interdisciplinary teams to facilitate smooth transitions of care.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information through meticulous documentation in EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or Athenahealth.
- Conduct staff evaluations, provide mentorship, and manage scheduling to optimize team performance and morale.
- Oversee infection control protocols, medication administration procedures including CPT coding for billing accuracy, and assist in triage during high-volume periods or emergencies.
Qualifications
- Valid RN license with current state registration; travel experience preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers; Level II trauma center experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth.
- Extensive clinical background in acute care settings including medical-surgical, emergency medicine, pediatrics (PICU), neonatal ventilator management, dementia care, behavioral health, and geriatrics.
- Strong supervisory experience managing nursing teams within hospital or long-term care facilities such as assisted living or nursing homes.
- Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for accurate medical documentation and utilization review/management processes.
- Skills in patient assessment techniques involving physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, diagnostic evaluation, and physical examinations.
- Certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS), IV insertion/injection administration, sterile technique expertise, and infection control practices.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including individuals with developmental disabilities or working with children of all ages.
