Job Summary:
Core Medical Center is seeking a Medical Office Receptionist who is confident, organized, and focused on getting patients in the door and keeping them scheduled. This role is vital to the success of our practice in Blue Springs. We need someone who is comfortable making outbound calls to follow up with patients, re-engage those who miss appointments, and ensure financial obligations are met. If you enjoy interacting with patients, but also understand the importance of collection of payments and managing financial responsibilities, this job is perfect for you. If you do not like asking for payments or following up with patients who miss appointments, this may not be the right role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively make outbound calls to get patients scheduled and keep the schedule full. Expect 30-50 out bound calls a day for scheduling new leads, rescheduling, reminder calls.
- Follow up with patients who miss appointments and ensure they are re-engaged and rescheduled.
- Confidently handle payment collection: collect co-pays, payments for services, and manage balances.
- Address financial matters with patients regarding outstanding payments, always ensuring a clear and professional approach.
- Manage all front office operations, including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and patient relations.
- Efficiently handle patient records, assist with office tasks, and keep the reception area organized.
- Actively promote and educate patients about Core’s ancillary services that support their health journey.
Priority Objectives:
- Maximize schedule efficiency by booking and maintaining patient appointments, with a focus on keeping patients engaged.
- Ensure timely payment collection, addressing outstanding balances with patients and ensuring financial obligations are met.
- Handle patient calls professionally and confidently, ensuring that any missed appointments are quickly rescheduled.
Qualifications:
- Minimum one year of experience in a medical office setting.
- Must be comfortable with making outbound calls and asking for payments.
- Strong communication and phone skills are essential for getting patients scheduled and addressing financial obligations.
- Must enjoy interacting with people and be comfortable discussing payments and rescheduling missed appointments.
