What are the responsibilities and job description for the Repair Technician position at Core Home?
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Kitchen Electronics & Small Appliances Repair Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and documenting issues with returned products.
This is a highly flexible, part-time position perfect for someone looking to supplement their income. You will only need to come into the office 1 to 2 days a week, or on an "as-needed/on-call" basis depending on the volume of returned units.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose & Repair: Review returned small kitchen appliances and electronics to identify malfunctions and perform necessary repairs to bring them back to working order.
- Inventory & Parts Management: Order required replacement parts or units necessary to complete repairs efficiently.
- Warranty Evaluation: Assess returned items to determine warranty applicability and validity.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all product issues and repairs. Synthesize these findings to report recurring defects or trends to the Quality Control (QC) team.
- Customer Service Support: Provide technical expertise to the customer service team and evaluate units to make final return decisions.
Hours & Location
- Job Type: Part-Time / On-Call
- Schedule: Flexible. Approximately 1–2 days per week in the office, or on an on-call basis tailored to the volume of incoming returns.
- Location: In-Office (Non-remote)
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience repairing small appliances or electronics (e.g., blenders, coffee makers, air fryers, and etc.)
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and ordering parts.
- Excellent attention to detail and a quality-first mindset.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable transportation and readiness to come in on an on-call basis.
