This critical role involves overseeing structural/welding activities, verifying compliance with project specifications, and maintaining rigorous quality control throughout the piping and welding processes.
Responsibilities
- Perform surveillance of welding activities, ensuring adherence to approved Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and project standards.
- Verify activities and report observations related to welding and piping inspections.
- Accept or reject work based on professional judgment and compliance with specifications.
- Sign off inspection releases once all requirements are met.
- Report work progress and maintain detailed documentation of inspections and findings.
- Ensure compliance with quality management principles and project safety protocols.
- Minimum of 7 years of structural/welding inspection experience.
- Strong knowledge of Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) techniques; certification is a plus.
- Experience working directly for the project owner or client.
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and API 570 Piping Inspector are highly desirable.
- NACE CIP Level II certification is a plus.
- Additional certifications like API 570 and NACE CIP Level II are preferable.
