The Make Ready Technician prepares vacant apartment homes for new residents by completing repairs, maintenance tasks, and unit upgrades in a timely and professional manner. This role helps ensure each apartment meets company standards for quality, safety, and cleanliness prior to move-in. The ideal candidate brings apartment maintenance experience, strong general repair skills, and a commitment to customer service.
Responsibilities
- Complete all make-ready activities for vacant apartment units within established deadlines
- Perform general maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, and appliance repairs
- Inspect vacant units and identify maintenance deficiencies
- Replace or repair fixtures, locks, blinds, doors, and hardware as needed
- Prepare walls, paint interiors, and complete touch-up work to company standards
- Install and repair flooring, countertops, cabinetry, and other unit components
- Ensure all appliances are operational and in good condition
- Maintain clean and organized work areas throughout the property
- Assist with preventive maintenance and service requests when needed
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and OSHA guidelines
- Communicate effectively with maintenance supervisors and property management teams regarding unit status and completion timelines
- Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 1 years of apartment maintenance, make-ready, construction, or related experience preferred
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, drywall, and carpentry repairs
- Ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment safely
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
- EPA Certification is a plus but not required
- Apartment turnover and make-ready experience
- Basic HVAC troubleshooting and repairs
- Painting and drywall finishing
- Appliance installation and repair
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 1 years of apartment maintenance, make-ready, construction, or related experience preferred.
