Joiner Responsibilities
We are seeking a skilled Joiner to join our team and contribute to the fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair of interior and structural components on marine vessels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, shipfitting, or sheet metal work, and will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, quality, and aesthetic standards of marine outfitting projects. Joiner Responsibilities
- Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair bulkheads, wood and metal articles, interior wood finishes, and cabin accessories.
- Install deck structures, including wood and metal deck components, decorative ceilings, false decks, and outfitting items such as racks and bins.
- Properly mount furniture, partition bulkheads, and other outfitting elements to specifications.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and quality control protocols.
- Collaborate with team members and project managers to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
- Pass required certifications, including the Tacker Certification test, and maintain necessary documentation.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Joiner or in related trades such as shipfitting, carpentry, or sheet metal work.
- Proven ability to fabricate, install, and repair wooden and metal components within marine environments.
- Strong understanding of marine safety and quality standards.
- Ability to pass the Tacker Certification test.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in physically demanding conditions.
- Experience working on ships or in marine construction preferred.
- Knowledge of interior finishing techniques and marine safety regulations is advantageous.
- Willingness to work on-site in various marine environments and adapt to project timelines.
