Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operations of plant engineering and maintenance teams, ensuring all systems function optimally.
- Supervise and mentor operating staff and contractors, providing necessary training and evaluating performance.
- Oversee the operation of multiple boilers, coordinating staff to maintain 24/7 coverage from Monday to Friday.
- Schedule and coordinate shutdowns for inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate and complete operational documentation, including logbooks and rounds.
- Oversee water chemistry testing and ensure proper treatment systems are maintained weekly.
- Ensure full compliance with local, federal, OSHA, and other safety and operational standards.
- Support initiatives to improve energy efficiency and implement cost-saving strategies to optimize facility performance.
- Possession of a current 3rd Class Engineer’s License.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and steam plant systems, including automation controls.
- Proven leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply relevant building codes and safety regulations.
- High school diploma or GED required; relevant technical experience strongly preferred.
