What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accessioning Technician/Data Entry position at Core Diagnostic Laboratories?
About the Role
Core Diagnostic Laboratories is hiring an Accessioning Specialist for the night shift at our facility in Birmingham, AL. Accessioning is the first step in the lab. You'll verify patient information, label specimens, and enter that information into our system so the rest of the lab can begin testing.
This is a busy shift with a high volume of samples, and the lab's turnaround time depends on how quickly and accurately they're accessioned. You'll need to work fast without losing accuracy, move comfortably between several computer programs, and stay organized when the volume picks up. Medical accessioning or medical office experience is preferred.
Please note: this is an overnight position scheduled Monday–Friday, 9:00 PM–5:30 AM. You will begin your shift in the evening and finish the following morning. Overnight availability is required and is a standing part of the role.
