Position Overview
The Senior Technology Project Manager is responsible for leading complex, cross-functional initiatives across the organization, with a strong focus on technology delivery and enterprise transformation. This role oversees the planning, execution, and successful delivery of projects within defined scope, budget, and timelines.
This is a remote position; however, the ideal candidate will reside in the Washington, DC metropolitan area to support regional collaboration and stakeholder engagement as needed.
As a key member of the PMO, the Senior Project Manager partners with stakeholders at all levels—including business units, non-technical teams, and executive leadership (VP level and above)—to drive strategic initiatives. This role requires expertise in managing multiple concurrent projects, including Salesforce implementations, while leveraging both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple concurrent technology and business projects, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and priorities
- Direct cross-functional teams through all phases of the project lifecycle, from business case development to execution and delivery
- Define project scope, goals, resource requirements, and budgets in collaboration with stakeholders and executive sponsors
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, and documentation following PMO standards
- Drive Salesforce implementation initiatives, including planning, coordination, integration, and stakeholder adoption
- Communicate project objectives, status, risks, and outcomes clearly to stakeholders, including business units, non-technical audiences, and senior leadership (VP and above)
- Lead project teams consisting of technical staff, subject matter experts, vendors, and support personnel
- Identify, manage, and escalate risks, issues, and dependencies to ensure timely resolution
- Establish priorities, assign responsibilities, and ensure milestones and deliverables are achieved
- Develop and execute change management strategies, including communication plans, training, and process documentation
- Ensure successful integration of new systems and processes into business operations
- Provide regular status reporting to project sponsors and stakeholders
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation plans
Required Qualifications
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification required
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 7 years of technology project management experience
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Hands-on experience leading Salesforce implementation projects
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage business units, non-technical stakeholders, and executive leadership (VP level and above)
- Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional team environments
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial technology (FinTech) or banking environments
- Prior experience working with or implementing solutions related to Fiserv - preffered
- Agile certification or experience working in Agile environments
- Familiarity with enterprise system implementations and integrations
- Experience in regulated financial services environments
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in project management and collaboration tools such as MS Project, Azure DevOps, Jira, and Trello
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile and Waterfall)
- Experience with change management frameworks and process improvement initiatives
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment
Work Environment & Characteristics
- Remote work environment with preference for candidates based in the Washington, DC metro area for on-site meetings as needed
