Cordoba Corporation is a leading engineering and program management firm based in California . W e are seeking an experienced Safety Inspector to join our Energy-Gas sector. The Safety Inspector will support Compressor Station site field operations for the construction and installation of compressor units and ancillary equipment. This role requires full ‑ time on ‑ site presence to oversee and reinforce safety practices across all active construction areas. The Safety Inspector will play a key role in daily contractor engagement, site monitoring, and ensuring compliance with safety standards throughout both the current civil construction phase and the upcoming mechanical installation phase.

Work Location: Onsite 5 days per week in Santa Clarita, CA

Responsibilities
- Provide safety oversight during installation of compressor units and ancillary equipment (pumps, compressors, instrument air, electrical, communications, etc.).
- Conduct daily safety check‑ins with contractors and crews working on site.
- Monitor overall site safety conditions and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and project requirements.
- Manage visitor access, orientations, and safety briefings.
- Prepare and maintain daily safety reports, observations, and corrective action documentation.
- Support general site upkeep to maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free work environment.
- Oversee safety practices during civil construction activities, including grading, foundations, and excavations.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify risks, recommend improvements, and support a proactive safety culture.
- 8-10 years of experience as a Safety Inspector in dry utilities and/or oil and gas environments required
- OSHA 30 certification required; other safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST, CUSP) preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering or related field preferred
- Strong understanding of safety management, regulatory compliance, construction practices, and hazard identification
- Ability to prepare clear, detailed safety reports (e.g., IIP, JSA, SPM) and communicate effectively with contractors and project teams
- Experience supporting civil construction activities such as grading, foundations, and excavation
- Familiarity with mechanical and electrical installation work
- Strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to manage daily site activities and visitor coordination
