The Analytical Chemist I will be responsible for the various chemistry lab related tasks including, data management, testing, ordering supplies, and lab organization.
Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities
- Perform analytical chemistry related activities including pipetting, transferring, and serial dilutions of chemicals and solutions leveraging standard lab equipment e.g. HPLC, GC
- Supervise workload of technicians including workload alignment, coaching, mentoring and supervision for GLP/GDP.
- Accurate weighing and measuring of reagents, standards, and samples.
- Adjust, maintain, and calibrate equipment such as balances, repeaters, pH meters, etc.
- Preparation of mobile phases, media, solutions, and standards
- Data entry, verification and record management of all testing.
- Procure and restock chemistry and micro lab supplies (Chemicals and Columns, etc.)
- Assist in the execution of method development and method validation activities.
- Adhere to the Cordis standard operating procedures and quality instructions.
- Wash glassware for chemistry/micro labs as needed
- Adhere to all GLP safety measures when handling chemicals and hazardous waste regarding use mixing, and disposal.
- Communicate to other departments all relevant information regarding raw materials, in process and finished products.
- Performing activities in a lab or clean room environment
Strategic Impact
- The generation of high-quality and high integrity analytical chemistry/micro data will support commercial sales and regulatory submissions in order to gain commercial product approvals and add value to the company.
Key Interactions
- Reports to a lab supervisor/Chemist
- Assist with ensuring ongoing analytical testing.
- Available and capable at communication through all levels within the analytical/micro lab personnels.
Qualifications
- An associate degree in Chemistry or related field (required); a BS or BA degree in Chemistry or related field (preferred).
- 2 years work experience
- Light office work
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 lbs.
- Fluent in English
Pay / Compensation
The expected pre-tax pay rate for this position is $63,800 - $80,000
Actual pay may fluctuate outside of the listed range depending on skills, education, experience, job-related knowledge and location.
US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.
