Cordica’s Supply Chain organization is seeking a Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist to drive sourcing execution and support development of category strategies across Raw Material and Indirect spend areas. This role is responsible for leading sourcing and total cost of ownership initiatives, improving financial performance, and strengthening supplier and operational execution in alignment with business objectives.
The Senior Specialist will operate with a high degree of autonomy, partnering closely with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to translate category strategies into actionable sourcing and implementation plans. This individual will lead supplier selection, support commercial negotiations, manage supply transitions, and drive improvements across the supply base.
While this role does not include direct people management, it requires strong ownership of initiatives, the ability to influence stakeholders, and accountability for delivering measurable results.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and support development of category strategies to optimize Cordica’s total cost of ownership -- including innovation, supplier quality, cost, supply risk, and working capital.
- Build and maintain deep expertise in assigned categories, including suppliers, competitors, cost drivers, and product specifications; continuously assess the market landscape to identify risks and opportunities; apply these insights to inform and drive strategic decisions.
- Plan and support effective supplier negotiations -- including terms for pricing, supplier performance, quality, volume and/or inventory commitments, and logistics strategies.
- Utilize market data to inform decisions around go-to-market timing, price-change-mechanisms, pricing negotiations, and category supplier consolidation strategies.
- Manage ongoing supplier relationships -- including supplier innovation and continuous improvement, dispute resolution, and supplier performance management.
- Identify category and supplier risk areas and execute risk mitigation. Support Cordica vendor risk assessment process across all locations.
- Support regulatory requirements & documentation for vendor network.
- Develop and utilize analytics and leading technologies for spend segmentation, RFP/RFQ processes, award scenario development, etc.
- Track category spend, suppliers, savings, and category strategy adherence.
- Contribute to the update or creation of sourcing team standard work & best practices for all Cordica locations.
- Manage supplier agreements & approved supplier listing for Cordica
- Lead vertical integration efforts across Cordica production network for supply continuity & costing leverage.
- Support new product introduction supplier negotiations & selection to optimize total cost & drive margin improvement for new launch activities.
- Lead & support continuous improvement activities throughout Cordica supply chain network.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in sourcing/procurement role within a complex manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication & negotiation skills. Ability to lead change and drive value through influence.
- Experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, project management, supply chain, or engineering in a large multi-plant organization.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Values teamwork and has experience working with and leading cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in analytics & report building tools (e.g. Power BI, Alteryx, Qlik, Tableau, advanced MS Excel functions, SQL, MS Access, etc.)
- Process flow mapping & other lean skill sets (e.g. MS Visio, SIPOC, Six Sigma, etc.)
- Proficiency in project management systems (e.g. Smartsheet, Visio, etc.)
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems (e.g. MS Dynamics, SAP, Oracle). Ability to learn company specific software programs.
Education / Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree minimum (Supply Chain/Industrial Engineering/Business Preferred) for position and 4-8 years strategic sourcing/procurement experience.
