What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabricator - Glass position at Corcoran Glass & Paint Inc?
SUMMARY:
As a professional Glass Fabricator, the successful candidate will assemble the metal framework or windows for commercial buildings across many industries. Glass Fabricators will also assist with the composite panel assembly.
To maintain good attendance is a condition of employment and an essential function of this job. To abide by all CGP policies and procedures relevant to this position.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with and handle aluminum extrusions to include fabrication and assembly
- Develop the layout and plans sequence of operations
- Prepares and develops the layout to frame
- Set up and operate the fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, radial arm saws, drill presses, miter saws, and milling machines
- Drill holes and fasten materials together using screws
- Assemble fabricated frames according to the architectural drawing, positions align, fits, and affix together parts using appropriate fasteners
- Perform quality control checks during assembly ensuring the product matches the architectural specifications
- Assemble framing effectively and efficiently
- Perform all work responsibilities in a safe manner and according to proper safety standards
- Maintain a clean, organized and professional looking worksite
- Perform all additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation to and from work
- High School diploma or GED
- Prior glass fabrication experience is desired, but not required
- Must be willing and able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Possess a high attention to detail to ensure finished products are of the utmost quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of construction, tools, equipment, materials, and application techniques is a plus
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while taking initiative and setting priorities in a demanding, fast-paced environment
- Is teachable and willing to learn new skills and techniques
- Have a conscious mindset for safety
- Ability to lift and handle heavy, sharp glass and other equipment up to 125 pounds
- Willingness to develop and grow both personally and professionally
WORK SCHEDULE:
- Monday – Friday; occasional weekends required based on projects
- General work hours are 7:00am – 3:30pm; flexibility is needed based on project needs
