The Director of Finance Operations is a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for executing and optimizing the company’s order-to-cash cycle, identifying and leading process improvements to maximize operational efficiency, strengthening internal accounting controls, and partnering with the Senior Leadership Team to deliver actionable financial insights and improved forecasting. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting expertise with financial acumen, operational rigor, and a continuous improvement mindset. You will report to SVP, Head of Operations and Finance.

 

Financial Operations & Controls

  • Oversee accounts payable, expense processing, and payroll processes, ensuring work is completed accurately and in a timely manner. 
  • Design, implement, and refine internal financial controls to strengthen governance as well as identify and mitigate risk.
  • Support annual tax preparation and coordinate with external tax advisors and internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee monthly close, including reconciliations to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Identify opportunities and lead initiatives to automate manual processes and improve overall finance operations.


Order-to-Cash Management

  • Review and approve customer contracts prior to execution, validating pricing, commercial terms, and deviations from standard contractual language.
  • Partner with project leaders to proactively monitor project budgets, billing milestones, and project completion status.
  • Manage the order-to-cash process, ensuring:
    • Timely client setup and onboarding, sales order creation, invoicing, and procurement documentation.
    • Adherence to client procurement requirements.
    • Compliance with contractual milestones and billing requirements.
    • Accounts receivable performance excellence.
    • Develop and implement process improvement and automation activities across the order-to-cash life cycle.


 

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Participate in the preparation of monthly financial reporting packages, including variance analysis, key performance indicators, and actionable business insights.
  • Assist in developing executive-level reporting and dashboards that support strategic decision-making.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities and communicate recommendations to leadership.
  • Lead and continuously improve the annual budgeting, business review, and forecasting processes in partnership with the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Develop and maintain long-term financial models to support strategic planning.
  • Evaluate business performance and recommend initiatives to improve profitability and operational efficiency.


Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • 10 years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, accounting, or financial operations.
  • Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Deep understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.
  • Experience managing complete order-to-cash process including contract review, billing, and accounts receivable.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting systems; experience with ERP required, NetSuite preferred
  • Demonstrated success leading process improvement and automation initiatives.
  • Experience building dashboards and operational performance reporting tools.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to influence across the enterprise and build strong relationships with senior leadership.
  • Systems thinker who understands how process, operations, and finance interconnect.
  • Comfort with leading through ambiguity and change.
