Position Summary:
Pre-Kindergarten Assistant Teachers are responsible for assisting lead teachers in instructing students using classical pedagogy. They help implement day-to-day activities, create lesson plans, and provide classroom supervision.

Spiritual Requirements:
Coram Deo Academy hires individuals that profess the historic Christian faith. The Nicene Creed describes the minimum understanding of and subscription to Christian belief required of employees of the Academy. Every employee must also profess to be a Christian believer and subscribe to this statement. Teachers are to embody both the Spirit of Christ and the spirit of inquiry. They should be saturated with the Word of God and be able to think biblically. The Prekindergarten teacher assistant supports the lead teacher in fostering a joyful, Christ-centered learning environment.
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in education preferred
- Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
- Knowledge of Christian, classical, and collaborative educational model preferred
- Love of learning and commitment to continued personal growth
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Lead Teacher in implementing a classical, developmentally appropriate Pre-K curriculum
- Reinforce biblical principles and Christian virtues throughout daily instruction and interactions
- Assist with daily classroom routines, including early literacy and numeracy activities, centers, outdoor play, meals, and rest time
- Supervise students to ensure safety and promote orderly, respectful behavior
- Help cultivate habits of attention, obedience, kindness, and responsibility
- Prepare instructional materials and maintain an organized, beautiful classroom environment
- Observe and report student progress and behavior to the Lead Teacher
- Communicate graciously and professionally with parents as directed
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Occasionally lift up to 30lbs
- Work in a traditional climate-controlled classroom environment with occasional times outdoors
