Coral Shores Behavioral Hospital is an 80-bed behavioral health facility located in Stuart Florida, and provides inpatient treatment for children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults. Our professional staff individualizes care to uniquely fit the intensity and severity of each patient case and their family's needs. Because crisis occurs at all times of the day and night, our services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Position Summary

The Business Office Director is responsible for the oversight of daily business office operations in accordance with regulatory requirements and facility policies; Establishes and maintains procedures for filing reimbursement claims and follow up. Maintains proper documentation of cash receipts, revenue, census, bad debt as well as contractual and administrative adjustments; Negotiates single-case agreements with potential funding sources; Ensures verification of financial coverage of all patients after admission; and coordinates financial counseling.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

· Possesses a strong working knowledge of addictions and psychiatric treatment principles and practices for adults.

· Demonstrates leadership skills that are empowering, constructive and supportive.

· Demonstrates ability to clearly and succinctly communicate both verbally and in writing; can get messages across that have the desired effect.

· Drives for results; steadfastly pushes self and others; consistent meets and/or exceeds collections goals.

· Must be able to establish clear directions; set stretching but obtainable objectives; and maintain two-way dialogue on work and while holding employees accountable for results.

· Must be able to relate well to all kinds of people both inside and outside the organization; builds appropriate rapport; builds constructive and effective relationships; uses diplomacy and tact; can diffuse even high-tension situations comfortably.

· Ability to exercise good judgment and apply common sense understanding.

· Must be able to orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal; uses resources effectively and efficiently.

· Probes all relevant sources for answers, looks beyond the obvious and doesn’t stop at the first answers; uses logic and all information available to solve difficult problems with effective solutions.

· Must be highly organized and detail oriented.

· Must possess extensive knowledge of third party insurance benefits and claims, collections, medical billing preferably in behavioral health.

· Able to spot trends in reimbursements and be able to adjust processes as needed to compensate for market changes.

· Must have strong knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, database, and presentation software (MS Word, Access, PowerPoint, Project). Advanced knowledge of MS Excel is required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· Associate's Degree or over 5 year's health care experience

Minimum of 5 years’ experience at the director level or a high level management position within a healthcare business office environment.

· Minimum of 5 years’ experience billing, collecting and analyzing insurance payments.

· Experience training and coaching and training staff within the business office

· Prior experience developing and implementing in-house billing system a strong plus
