Job Title: School Psychologist Intern

Reports to: Campus Principal

Location: In-Person, CASLV School Campus – Las Vegas, NV; Henderson, NV

Position Type: Full-Time, 10-Month (School Year)

The School Psychologist Intern works under the supervision of a licensed School Psychologist to gain practical experience providing school psychology services in a K-12 educational setting. The intern assists with student assessments, data collection, behavioral and academic interventions, special education processes, and consultation with school staff and families. The position provides supervised professional development and hands-on experience consistent with school psychology internship requirements.

• Assist the supervising School Psychologist with psychoeducational evaluations and reevaluations.
• Assist with collecting student information, reviewing records, conducting observations, and gathering data.
• Administer assessment instruments under appropriate supervision and in accordance with training and established procedures.
• Assist with scoring and interpreting assessment results under the direction of the supervising School Psychologist.
• Assist with preparing evaluation reports and other documentation.
• Participate in multidisciplinary evaluation meetings as appropriate.

• Assist the supervising School Psychologist with the special education evaluation process.
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings as appropriate.
• Assist with reviewing student data and developing recommendations for educational supports.
• Maintain required documentation and assist with monitoring evaluation timelines.
• Develop an understanding of IDEA, Section 504, and applicable Nevada special education requirements.

• Assist with Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) under supervision.
• Conduct classroom and student observations as assigned.
• Assist teachers and staff with implementing behavioral and academic interventions.
• Support social-emotional and behavioral programming.
• Assist with student support and crisis response activities under the direction of school personnel.

• Collaborate with the supervising School Psychologist, teachers, counselors, special education staff, administrators, and related service providers.
• Assist with student support teams and problem-solving meetings.
• Communicate professionally with families under the direction and supervision of the supervising School Psychologist.
• Provide staff support and resources as assigned.

• Provide supervised individual or small-group interventions within the scope of the internship and applicable training requirements.
• Assist in identifying student academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of evidence-based interventions.
• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with students and families.

• Maintain accurate and confidential student records and documentation.
• Complete internship activities and documentation required by the university or internship program.
• Participate in supervision meetings and professional development activities.
• Seek feedback and demonstrate continued professional growth.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and school policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Enrollment in an accredited graduate-level School Psychology program.
• Eligibility for and commitment to completing a school psychology internship.
• Ability to meet the internship requirements established by the student's university/program.

The School Psychologist Intern will work under the direct supervision of a qualified and appropriately licensed School Psychologist. The supervising School Psychologist is responsible for providing ongoing supervision, guidance, feedback, and oversight of the intern's activities.

The intern will perform duties within the scope of their training program, applicable Nevada requirements, and CASLV policies and procedures. The intern will not independently make eligibility determinations, provide unsupervised psychological services, or assume responsibilities requiring an independently licensed School Psychologist.

The School Psychologist Intern works primarily in a school environment with frequent interaction with students, teachers, families, administrators, and related service providers. The position includes time in classrooms and other student settings conducting observations and supporting interventions, as well as time completing assessments, documentation, and meetings. Occasional travel between CASLV campuses may be required. The intern may encounter challenging student behaviors and must be able to respond professionally and appropriately under the direction of the supervising School Psychologist.
