What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Functional Consultant position at Copperpod Digital Inc?
We are seeking a versatile Finance Functional Consultant with strong Business Analysis capabilities and hands-on experience in Oracle Financials or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance or SAP. This role will partner closely with corporate finance teams to design, implement, and optimize finance processes across Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and General Ledger (GL).
The ideal candidate has successfully supported ERP implementations or finance transformations and is comfortable operating in both functional SME and business analyst capacities — translating finance requirements into scalable system solutions while ensuring strong financial controls.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Analysis & Process Design
- Elicit, document, and validate business requirements for R2R and P2P processes.
- Facilitate workshops with Finance stakeholders to capture As-Is and To-Be process flows.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, and process maps.
- Identify process gaps and recommend improvements aligned to ERP best practices.
Finance Functional Expertise (AR/AP/GL)
- Support configuration and optimization of:
- Accounts Receivable (billing, cash application, aging)
- Accounts Payable (invoice processing, matching, payments)
- General Ledger (journal processing, close, reporting)
- Ensure proper subledger to GL integration and financial controls.
- Assist with month-end close design and optimization.
ERP Implementation & Transformation
- Participate in Oracle Financials or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance implementations/upgrades.
- Support:
- Fit-gap analysis
- Functional design documentation
- Data mapping and migration (vendors, customers, open balances)
- UAT planning and execution
- Cutover and go-live support
- Work closely with technical teams on integrations and data flows.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Serve as a bridge between Finance, IT, and implementation partners.
- Communicate clearly with Controllers, Accounting, and Treasury teams.
- Provide functional guidance and best practices to business users.
- Support training and post-go-live stabilization.
Controls, Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure processes support audit, SOX (if applicable), and internal controls.
- Define and validate reconciliation frameworks.
- Support financial reporting requirements and data integrity checks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 6–10 years of experience in finance functional consulting or finance business analysis.
- Hands-on experience with at least one ERP:
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance
- Oracle Financials / Fusion/Peoplesoft/SAP
- Strong functional knowledge of:
- Accounts Receivable
- Accounts Payable
- General Ledger
- Month-end close
Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
