Copperhead Technologies, an operating firm of Command Holdings, is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support a fast-paced program with the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, managing multiple workstation and network hardware across multiple customer sites. We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design, procure, and install network systems that meet Department of Defense (DoD) specifications. In this role, you will support the development of network architectures, collaborate with procurement teams to source hardware and software, and oversee the installation and configuration of network equipment such as routers, switches, and firewalls. You will conduct testing to ensure functionality and security compliance, maintain accurate documentation, and provide technical support to team members and end-users.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Support the development of detailed network designs and architectures that align with Department of Defense (DoD) standards.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to identify and source network hardware and software that meet project specifications.
  • Support the installation and configuration of network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
  • Support testing of network systems to ensure functionality, performance, and security compliance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during installation and testing phases.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, installations, and changes.
  • Support development and updates for network diagrams and other relevant technical documents.
  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members and end-users.
  • Stay updated on DoD policies and best practices related to network security and design.
  • Implement security measures to protect network infrastructure and data.

Work Environment:

  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to sit, stand, talk, and hear.

Travel:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 3 years experience in network engineering // or // minimum of 6 years experience in lieu of degree.
  • Current, active Top Secret security clearance with SCI.
  • Must have DOD experience.
  • Knowledge of protocols, security standards, and design principles for OSI Layers 1-3.
  • Experience with installation and configuration of physical networking equipment and Local Area Networks (LANs).
  • Understanding of network management and troubleshooting technologies such as ICMP, SNMPv3, and Syslog.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Professional proficiency in English is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other related field.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and experience in Microsoft Azure.
  • Network Engineering experience for the US Air Force.
