Purpose of Role:

Reporting to the Mine Manager, the Utility Crew / Project Supervisor will oversee the Utility Crew department.   

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Oversee all Earthwork Operations / Projects on the Copper World Site
  • Manage Contractors on site and be the primary contact / support 
  • Managing the utility crews and make sure they are prepared and successful
  • Develop new opportunities and a development path for the Utility Crew 
  • Communicate work plans to crew leader, ensuring that they are prepared and knowledgeable of projects prior to implementation. 
  • Able to independently identify project needs and coordinate ordering of needed supplies, equipment maintenance, and task completions. 
  • Track earthwork KPIs and present results weekly
  • Provided verbal and written reports to Mine Manager on progress (examples: daily shift reports)
  • Knowledge of project practices, polices, and systems.
  • Ensure all company procedures and safety policies are followed, MUST lead by example.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:

  • High School diploma / GED / associate’s degree
  • 6 years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience 
  • Contractor Management experience
  • Policy Development Experience 
  • Exposure to Mine Planning
  • Ability to work & multi-task in a fast -paced environment.
  • Experience supervising, managing, and optimization the use of heavy equipment (Dozers, Excavators)
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and meet all other requirements of the job.
  • Can move over uneven terrain
  • The ability to work in different environmental conditions.
  • Positive work ethic
  • Maintain a drug and alcohol-free workplace.
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, manage and grow the team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current MSHA.

The work environment will necessitate work near moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions such as hot and/or dry conditions. Work will be conducted in locations where noise, fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration may exist.

Employee may be expected to drive a company vehicle while performing the job. Employees must be able to perform the physical functions of operating a motor vehicle, including use of eyes, ears, arms, hands, legs, and feet.  Employee must be able to prove that he/she has a current and valid driver's license.
