Advanced Veterinary Technician
Location: Riverton, UT
Copper View Animal Hospital

Copper View Animal Hospital is a family-owned veterinary clinic providing medical care to companion animals and support to their owners. We are seeking an experienced Advanced Veterinary Technician to join our clinical team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, dental procedures, surgeries, and treatments
  • Perform diagnostic testing, including bloodwork, urinalysis, and radiographs
  • Prepare and submit laboratory samples
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Safely restrain and handle dogs and cats using appropriate techniques
  • Monitor anesthesia and provide post-operative patient care
  • Perform nail trims and anal gland expressions
  • Prepare and fill prescriptions
  • Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with veterinary standards
  • Educate clients on medication administration and preventive care under veterinary direction
  • Assist in training and supporting veterinary assistants
  • Maintain clinic cleanliness, organization, and stocked treatment areas
  • Meet physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs and prolonged standing, bending, and kneeling

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; degree in veterinary technology preferred
  • 3–4 years of clinical experience as a veterinary technician required
  • Knowledge of anesthesia monitoring, surgical assistance, and laboratory procedures
  • Proficiency with medical equipment and clinical protocols
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.50 per hour
