POSITION TITLE: BOOKKEEPER
Summary of Responsibilities
We are an expanding Atlanta design-build firm, working on large-scale projects for amazing clients. Our team is tight-knit, values work-life balance and takes pride in being the top in-town remodeler. We’re seeking a bookkeeper to oversee accounts payable/receivable, financial reporting, insurance audits, and monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all financial activities. You’ll report to the Director of Business Operations.

Reports to
Director of Business Operations
Essential Functions
- Manage AP/AR processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, collections, and reporting.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor accounts monthly.
- Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate accrual accounting entries.
- Support monthly Work-in-Progress updates and track project budgets, deposits, and change orders.
- Input financial data into QuickBooks Online accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform regular audits of financial transactions, ensuring proper coding, classification, and compliance with internal controls; maintain organized records for auditing and reporting purposes.
- Provide ad-hoc financial reports for management and collaborate with external accountants for tax preparation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain organized financial records.
Expected Skills
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel
- Construction bookkeeping experience (BuilderTrend knowledge is a plus)
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well both independently and within a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field preferred, but not required if significant experience in construction bookkeeping is demonstrated.
- Eligible for hybrid work schedule (remote flexibility after 90 days of successful onboarding)
Compensation & Benefits
- This position starts at $65,000 per year. Final salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
