What are the responsibilities and job description for the Geospatial Lead position at Copper River Family of Companies?
Coho Technology Solutions is seeking a Geospatial/GIS Lead to provide technical direction for geospatial data systems and applications critical to Census operations. This role ensures the integrity and integration of spatial data across all Decennial programs, supporting the Master Address File and TIGER systems.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Oversee design and maintenance of geospatial systems and data models.
- Ensure integration of geospatial data with collection and processing systems.
- Lead enhancements to address accuracy and data visualization tools.
- Develop geospatial data standards and ensure consistency across systems and data sources.
- Collaborate with data scientists to support advanced spatial analytics and visualization initiatives.
- Evaluate new GIS technologies and tools to support modernization and automation.
- Ensure compliance with federal geospatial data policies and standards (FGDC, OMB Circular A-16).
Essential Job Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education:
- Master's in Geography, GIS, or a related discipline
- Experience:
- 10 years in GIS, spatial data management, or cartography
- Familiarity with U.S. Census Bureau geographic systems preferred
