Industrial Lube Technician – Day Shift Heavy Industrial Rendering Plant

Schedule
Permanent Day Shift
7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
This position works a rotating two-week schedule:
Week 1
- Monday
- Tuesday
- Friday
- Saturday
- Sunday
Week 2
- Monday
- Wednesday
- Thursday
This averages 42 hours per week, includes built-in overtime, and gives you every other weekend off.
What You'll Be Doing
A good lube tech saves the company thousands of dollars by catching problems before production goes down.
Your responsibilities include:
- Lubricating bearings, motors, gearboxes, chains, and rotating equipment
- Inspecting conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, motors, and drives
- Checking oil levels and topping off lubricants
- Performing scheduled oil changes
- Greasing equipment to manufacturer specifications
- Inspecting belts, chains, sprockets, bearings, and couplings
- Looking for leaks, unusual noises, vibration, overheating, and abnormal wear
- Reporting equipment issues before they become major failures
- Assisting maintenance technicians during repairs and shutdowns
- Cleaning and organizing lubrication equipment and storage areas
- Keeping accurate lubrication routes and maintenance records
- Following all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and safety procedures

We're looking for someone who:

- Understands that preventative maintenance keeps the plant running.
Experience is great, but a strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn are just as important.
Preferred Experience
- Industrial lubrication
- Preventive maintenance
- Bearings and power transmission
- Gearboxes and motors
- Conveyor systems
- Pumps
- Basic mechanical repairs
- Forklift operation
- Scissor lift or aerial lift operation
- Reading basic equipment manuals
- Computer or tablet experience for documenting inspections
Experience in rendering plants, food manufacturing, paper mills, sawmills, chemical plants, steel mills, or other heavy industrial environments is preferred but not required.
Military mechanical experience is also a plus.
The Reality
This isn't a clean maintenance position.
You'll sweat.
You'll get covered in grease.
You'll climb equipment.
You'll work around steam, rotating machinery, and process equipment.
Some days you'll leave smelling like the plant. That's part of the job.
