Coploff, Ryan & Houser, a general practice law firm in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, seeks an associate attorney to join our team of 3 experienced attorneys and 6 legal assistants.
The firm services an extensive clientele (individuals, business entities and municipalities) in Clinton, Centre, Lycoming, and surrounding counties. The office is within driving distance of nearby towns of Williamsport and Bellefonte and about an hour from State College, PA.
Coploff, Ryan & Houser seeks a self-starting, ambitious associate attorney to join our fast-paced and intellectually rewarding legal environment. Must have strong time management skills and the ability to efficiently manage own caseload as well as support the other attorneys’ cases. The associate attorney will have the opportunity to learn and grow under the wings of seasoned mentors.
Qualifications
· Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school (candidates in final year of law school will be considered)
· Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar and in good standing (candidates planning to take the Bar Examination no later than summer 2026 will be considered)
· Strong academic credentials
· Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
· Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
· Ability to assume increasing levels of responsibility
· Excellent organizational skills
Responsibilities:
· Make quality decisions in a fast-paced environment
· Provide effective and timely communications, legal advice, and other services to clients
· Analyze complex legal and factual issues, conduct extensive, well-reasoned legal research, and independently develop and present litigation strategies on behalf of clients
· Communicate with the court, witnesses, opposing counsel, and staff in a timely and professional manner
· Track and submit billable hours weekly
· Delegate work to office staff and supervise their completion of work
