Floor Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Floor Technician to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of commercial and institutional floors. Duties

• Perform comprehensive floor cleaning procedures including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and spot cleaning to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
• Handle chemical agents safely for tasks such as floor waxing, buffing, polishing, and carpet cleaning, following all safety protocols.
• Operate specialized equipment such as floor buffers, polishers, extractors, and carpet cleaners to achieve optimal results.
• Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of equipment, furniture, and supplies to facilitate thorough cleaning operations.
• Apply floor care techniques like buffing and waxing to restore shine and protect surfaces from wear and tear.
• Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, chemical usage, and equipment maintenance for accountability and quality assurance.
• Ensure adherence to environmental services standards by using eco-friendly products and proper disposal methods.
• Follow company policy and procedures.

Requirements

• Proven experience in janitorial services or custodial work with a focus on floor care or environmental services.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques involving chemical agents handling with an emphasis on safety procedures.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting with proper technique to prevent injury.
• Familiarity with commercial cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, waxers, carpet extractors, and vacuums.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for maintaining cleanliness standards consistently.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks throughout shifts.
• Good communication skills to follow instructions accurately and collaborate effectively with team members.
