Job Description
The Material Analyst is responsible for ensuring material availability aligned with the SIOP plan while optimizing inventory levels and supplier performance. In this role, you will serve as a key link between demand planning, supply planning, procurement, manufacturing, and finance to support a balanced, executable plan.

Job Description
The Material Analyst is responsible for ensuring material availability aligned with the SIOP plan while optimizing inventory levels and supplier performance. In this role, you will serve as a key link between demand planning, supply planning, procurement, manufacturing, and finance to support a balanced, executable plan.
As a Material Analyst, You Will
- Translate approved SIOP plans into actionable material requirements.
- Validate material feasibility of the consensus demand plan.
- Identify capacity or material constraints that impact supply plans.
- Provide input into monthly SIOP meetings regarding material risks and upside opportunities.
- Support scenario modeling for demand changes, new product launches, or supply disruptions.
- Execute and maintain Material Requirement Planning parameters (lead times, safety stock, lot sizing).
- Monitor exceptions and proactively resolve shortages.
- Maintain accurate planning data in ERP system.
- Escalate supply risks that could impact production schedules.
- Work with Commodity team to develop mitigation plans for long-lead or high-risk components.
- Work closely with Supply and Demand planners to ensure alignment.
- Provide analytics to leadership on material availability.
- Support Engineering on new product introduction material readiness.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, or related field, or 3-5 years of experience in material planning or supply chain analysis.
- Strong understanding of MRP and demand planning concepts.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, NetSuite).
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Strong understanding of SIOP processes.
- Analytical thinking and scenario planning
- Attention to detail with a big-picture mindset
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Education, Experience & Skills
- Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
