Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the organization complies with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and ANSI standards
- Policy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and safety programs tailored to the organization’s operations
- Training and Education: Conduct employee training on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and environmental protection practices
- Inspections and Audits: Perform regular workplace inspections, identify hazards, and monitor operational processes to mitigate risks
- Incident Management: Investigate accidents or environmental incidents, document findings, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Emergency Preparedness: Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans and safety drills
- Reporting: Prepare and submit compliance reports to management and regulatory agencies, maintain records of incidents, and generate health and safety assessment documentation
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on EHS trends, regulations, and best practices to enhance workplace safety and environmental stewardship
- Leadership and Communication: Ability to lead safety initiatives, train employees, and communicate effectively with management and staff
- Attention to Detail: Acute awareness of potential hazards and meticulous documentation of safety procedures and incidents
- Problem-Solving: Develop practical solutions for mitigating risks and improving workplace safety
- Analytical Skills: Conduct risk assessments, audits, and compliance evaluations to identify areas for improvement
