What are the responsibilities and job description for the MANUFACTURING SUPERVISOR position at COPE PLASTICS INC?
Exciting new opportunity for a second-shift Manufacturing Supervisor at our Cedar Rapids, IA facility! This position is leadership-driven at its core, assisting employees in fabrication matters, ensuring the forward-movement of productivity and aiding in the overall success of production efforts.
$2/hour shift differential.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Strong communication (both written and verbal) skills
- Positive, team-focused leadership approach
- Highly proficient in fabrication and CNC machining operation
- Able to effectively problem-solve and resolve conflict
Essential Functions:
- Corresponds with scheduling to plan and assign work for specified machinery to meet deadlines
- Monitors job efficiencies and provides technical guidance as jobs are running
- Assists estimators with the quoting process and with the work order packet, providing information on appropriate inspection methods and suggestions for repeat orders to run smoother
- Verifies that all final inspections are done and inspects parts for quality and accuracy using appropriate measuring devices
- Works from program operational data, set-up instructions and drawings to set up and operate numerically controlled machines or manual machines or fabricate plastic parts when necessary
- Demonstrates positive leadership practices by coaching and training, setting and monitoring goals and objectives, assigning and checking work, analyzing and resolving work problems, providing regular feedback, ensuring team is complying with safety standards, applying the performance improvement process and conducting performance appraisals

Qualifications:Education: High School diploma or GED two years of vocational/technical college or equivalent experience
Experience: Fabrication experience with previous supervisory or team lead responsibility and broad knowledge of machining and fabrication techniques
