What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coffee Quality Control Technician position at COPAN TRADE LLC?
Coffee Quality Control Technicianwill be the primary contact for analytical testing results of shipment samples and production verification for our CopanTrade products. This role will work with closely and assisted with other department teams to develop and improve our processes, procedures and quality.
Shift: Monday - Friday 8am to 4:30pm
Responsibilities
- Conducting various quality control checks of products on production lines.
- Perform a variety of quality control testing on coffee from green beans to finished products to determine company standards are being met.
- Individuals must be highly organized with strong attention to detail and possess good analysis skills.Perform sample roasting and tests from the incoming green coffee samples
- Provide technical support based on customers requirements and product quality
- analytical testing, sensory, product sampling, as well as documentation verifications for quality assurance.
- Document all results in the Quality Control and SCA Cupping System.
- Document investigations, analysis, and situations that occur within the production shift.
- Organize lab within specification by creating tags and to distribute to the proper personal. Assist in the disposition of Hold Product if needed. Maintain the QA Hold system on a daily batch basis.
- Document daily sample procedure for finished goods .
- Maintain lab inventory of tools, supplies and assure all analysis equipment is functional as well as calibrated on a routine basis. (Antron, Roaster, Grinder)
- Support operation on related activities, such as follow-up verifications, production and other assistance as needed.
- Support operations in Food Safety, Quality Consistency and Food Manufacturing Regulations.
- Monitor to process operating guidelines and comply with Safety policies.
- Assist with routine and Food safety inspections
- Testing of green coffee samples for finish product and Sensory evaluation (cupping daily)
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma required.
- 2 year Tech Degree or 4 Year Bachelor Degree in a Food or Science related program preferred.
- Previous Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Certified HACCP and SQF training and experience highly preferred.
