Job Summary
As an Investment Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting our commercial real estate investment platform, with a focus on new development projects from predevelopment through stabilization. This role also supports Family Investment Entities and Trusts, as well as investor reporting and communications.
Primary responsibilities include conducting market research, evaluating sites, building financial models, underwriting new opportunities, coordinating due diligence efforts, and assisting with capital sourcing initiatives. The role is expected to proactively identify risks and opportunities, refine assumptions, and contribute well supported recommendations that inform investment decisions.
In addition, the Investment Analyst will manage reporting for family investment entities, prepare monthly development and asset level reports, and support capital partners and investor communications.
This position reports to the EVP of Finance and Asset Management and works closely with Development, Leasing and Brokerage, Property Management, and Executive Leadership. The role is based in our downtown Kansas City office.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Analysis
- Utilize financial models, industry data, and comparable property analysis to determine accurate project feasibility
- Provide sensitivity analysis and support on rents, cap rates, construction costs, interest rates, and absorption timelines
- Coordinate project execution through consultants and review closing statements and loan documents and prepare loan abstracts, including covenant compliance, guarantee releases, etc.
- Utilize Excel, Argus Enterprise, ProCalc, and other financial/analytical software
- Prepare investor capital stacks, investment valuation and other reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare quarterly investor reports and statements for Family Trusts, Individuals and Family Investment entities
- Schedule quarterly meetings to present financial results with stakeholders
- Track development budgets, schedules, and draw requests assisting in construction progress and variance reporting
- Participate in strategic asset-level discussions including treasury and capital markets
- Lead investor communications during construction, including quarterly reporting and construction progress
