The Coos County Road Department is seeking a Road Permit and Right-of-Way Coordinator. This position serves as the primary point of contact for permits and activities that affect county roads and road rights-of-way. The Coordinator reviews permit applications, coordinates with property owners, contractors, utility companies, government agencies, and county departments, and ensures that work performed within county road rights-of-way complies with county standards and regulations.

Ideal candidates may have backgrounds in public works, transportation, road maintenance, construction management, utility coordination, land use planning, civil engineering technology, permitting, infrastructure inspection, or related fields.
The position is responsible for issuing driveway access permits, utility permits, right-of-way permits, and verification letters, as well as reviewing land use applications that may affect county roads. The Coordinator conducts field inspections, investigates public concerns, and works closely with Community Development staff, utility providers, contractors, and the public to identify and resolve transportation and access issues.
This is a unique hybrid position that combines permitting, field inspection, right-of-way management, and road maintenance operations. The successful candidate will spend time reviewing plans, permits, and regulations; inspecting work sites and roadway conditions; coordinating with partner agencies; and responding to issues affecting the county road system. As a member of the Road Department team, this position may also assist with road maintenance activities and equipment operation as needed to support departmental operations. Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively with property owners, contractors, government agencies, and coworkers are essential.
Pay: $29.94 - $34.71 per hour
