Overview
Join our team as a Part-time Dispatcher and Paratransit Driver, where your energy and communication skills will keep our transportation services running smoothly and efficiently. In this role, you will coordinate daily dispatch operations, manage routing and scheduling, and provide safe, reliable transportation for our clients.
This position is for a Dispatcher to work some mornings starting at 5:00 am and a full day 8:00 to 6:00 on Saturdays. Ideal person will have excellent phone customer service skills as well as be very comfortable on computers and have familiarity with Excel. Ideal person will be willing to be trained as a substitute driver.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and dispatch transportation services using transportation management system.
- Communicate clearly with drivers, clients, and team members via multi-line phone systems, ensuring accurate information exchange and excellent phone etiquette.
- Monitor vehicle locations in real-time through GPS tracking to ensure timely pickups and deliveries while adjusting routes as needed for traffic or unforeseen delays.
- Maintain detailed records of dispatch activities, including data entry into systems and generating data for reports.
- Handle inquiries from clients or drivers professionally, providing clear directions or updates while demonstrating excellent communication skills.
Qualifications
- Required: Basic computer proficiency including working with Excel
- Required: Ability to being work at 5:00 am and on Saturdays from 8:00-6:00
- Required: Initially willing to work flexible days and hours
- Required: Ability to pass drug screening, background check, basic physical exam.
- Preferred: experience with dispatch, logistics, or transportation management systems such as VIA or similar platforms.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently and professionally.
- Proficiency in data entry.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
