Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly with a friendly, positive attitude to foster a welcoming environment
- Manage restaurant reservations using reservation management systems to optimize seating flow
- Answer incoming phone calls with professional phone etiquette, providing information and taking reservations as needed
- Escort guests to their tables efficiently, ensuring smooth seating arrangements and waitlist management
- Maintain organized restaurant table management systems to track seating and guest flow
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers to coordinate guest seating and special requests
- Handle guest inquiries and resolve concerns promptly to enhance guest relations and satisfaction
Skills
- Proven experience as a host/hostess or in a customer service role within a restaurant or food service environment
- Strong organizational skills for managing reservations, waitlists, and table assignments
- Excellent communication skills, including clear verbal interaction and professional phone etiquette
- Familiarity with restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS systems
- Basic math skills for handling reservations, guest counts, and billing procedures
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hospitality best practices to ensure guest well-being
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining a positive attitude and guest focus
