Job Overview:
Assumes responsibility for the operation of the Respiratory Care Department. Oversees workload assignments and scheduling needs as appropriate. Professional management employee primarily responsible for the supervision of all approved respiratory care services, so that organization and quality care standards are upheld. Has the ability to hire, fire, suspend, assign, reward or discipline staff employees when in charge or responsibly directs staff. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient s age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician by NBRC with registry preferred with A,A,S,degree
- Licensed by New Jersey State Board of Respiratory Care
- Minimum of 2-3 years clinical respiratory care practitioner experience with strong critical care background
Preferred:
- Previous instruction experience preferred
Scheduling Requirements:
- PT
- Nights
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to work under minimal supervisory direction within the direction of the scope of the job description
- Must be highly motivated in the professional pursuit of the service care compliance standards
- Must be a self-starter who establishes exemplary work standards and maintains a high sense of office conduct and leadership
- Possesses advanced knowledge in respiratory mechanics and theory in the care and management of burn patients and the general respiratory complications
- Ability to monitor and evaluate pertinent information from patient s history interview and/or charts
- Ability to accurately compute and prepare medications, calculate and understand basic lung volumes and flow rates using basic principles of the metric system
- Interpersonal skills and communication skills necessary to deal approved school for respiratory care
