Each day our staff provides guidance, support and direction as needed on new skills/tasks, behavior management, personal development, social skills, and communication. They take pride in assisting individuals in achieving goals by maintaining knowledge of their learning styles, strengths and support needs and ensures that skills are taught accordingly. Daily administering and documenting each individuals medications as prescribed by a physician in accordance with the Medication Administration Policy (MAP) is a must.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Practical Nurse.
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- Maintain current BLS Certification in Massachusetts
- Possession of a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record
- Acceptable Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) and fingerprint check
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Administer medications and implement nursing treatment plans.
- Confer with physicians, dentists, and therapists as appropriate.
- Communicate with/provide necessary information on relevant health issues to parents, guardians, other providers and applicable Agency staff.
- Respond to participant complaints of illness and recommend appropriate action.
- Confer with pharmacists regarding medications and their acquisitions as appropriate.
- Monitor seizure disorder records.
- Monitor and assess general health status of participants, including hygiene issues and skin integrity.
- Administer minor first aid when necessary.
- Complete all health-related documentation requirements
