Position Summary:
The Advanced Process Engineering Sr. Manager will direct and coordinate the planning and completion of manufacturing production, process, tooling, gaging, and plant engineering projects with relation to product production. Will assist plants in achieving launch targets, OEE improvements, and lean Initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities:
Direct engineering activities relative to manufacture of automotive products
Support and develop quotations for new business opportunities
Develop capital/tooling spending plans/requirements, and implement appropriate aspects of capital plan
Oversee the design, acquisition, and installation of capital equipment and tooling to meet production and financial requirements
Apply understanding of the business and how own team contributes to the achievement of results
Manage professional employees and/or supervisors
Provide and update equipment to support current manufacturing requirements
Coordinate with quality and production and provide necessary support to meet company objectives
Direct efforts for tooling, manufacturing process, plant engineering, and maintenance project management
Ensure clear communication of lessons learned are shared within their respective department and across other departments
Identify and resolves complex technical, operational and organizations problem
Guide by policies, resource requirements, budgets and the business plan
Accountable for the performance and results of a team within own discipline
Drive new and innovative ideas for process improvements
Guide, influence and persuade other either internally in other areas or externally with customers or agencies
Provide knowledge of material and process costs to support manufacturing
Provide health, and safety requirements in support of tooling, equipment, and CLauS deliverables
Responsible for the development and implementation of engineering standards
May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description
Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in engineering preferred; Masters or other advanced degree is a plus
Minimum of five years’ prior leadership experience preferred
Ability to apply understanding of the business and how own team contributes to the achievement of results
Ability to make decisions guided by policies, procedure and business plan; receives guidance from manager
Minimum of ten years’ experience in process engineering, tooling, equipment, and process improvement
Requires in-depth understanding and application of concepts, theories and principles in own discipline and basic knowledge of other disciplines
Excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to effectively interface with all levels of hourly and management personnel, both inside and outside of the company.
Working knowledge of customer functional performance requirements
Strong technical problem-solving skills, project management, and statistical process control capability
Strong understanding of MRP, quality control, purchasing, accounting
Knowledge of Core Quality Tools: FMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC.
Knowledge of Problem-Solving Tools (8D, 5 Why, Cause and Effect, etc.).
Knowledge of Problem-Solving techniques (6 Sigma, Kaizen, Kepner Tregoe, etc.).
Strong manufacturing engineering skills and understanding of shop floor routings
Experience with profile extrusion and injection molding of TPE & PVC preferred
Microsoft Office proficient

Professional Office Environment
Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floor
Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations when required, up to 80 – 100% of the time
Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury
