Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled medical professional to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical procedures and patient care, ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality of service. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare professionals, enhancing the patient experience, and quality measures within our facility.
Duties
- Greets, rooms and triages patients
- Record patients’ medical history accurately
- Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc.
- Observe patients under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications, etc.
- Monitor patient’s condition and compose patient charts
- Administer injections, prescribed medications, draw labs when ordered by physician, assist in occasional administration of IV fluids
- Phlebotomy, collect samples for lab testing
- Bills and documents for all tests performed
- Medications and prior authorization
- Assists with filling out patient forms (school/ work)
- Prioritize messages with multi-tasking
- Chart prep
- Refills patient medications
- Calls facilities to get patients scheduled for STAT appointments
- Assists with cleaning and organizing the medical cabinet
- Administers vaccines ordered
- Triages important and urgent phone calls
- Cleans and stocks patient rooms
- Perform spirometry, EKG and other testing as required
- Communicate with patients’ family or power of attorney (POA) to provide providers feedback and release instructions on testing results
- Always demonstrate service excellence
- Other duties as assigned
Experience
- Proven experience as RMA, CMA, LPN, or RN
- Compassionate and able to handle stress
- Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team
- Familiarity with clinical health, safety, sanitation standards, and procedures
- Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices
- Excellent knowledge of medical terminology
- Good knowledge of MS Office and data entry
- Attention to detail when entering precise values into patient charts
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
