About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Estimator and Project Manager to join our team, responsible for providing accurate cost estimates, generating technical drawings, and ensuring project success from initiation to completion. This role involves close collaboration with customers, sales, and engineering teams, and the shop floor to deliver high-quality, customized solutions. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of technical drawings, excellent customer service skills, and experience in estimating within a manufacturing or commercial environment.
You will work closely with clients, internal departments, and other stakeholders to ensure that all project requirements are met and that all parties are satisfied with the final outcome. Your success in this role will be measured by your ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of all parties involved.
Preferred Skills:
As an Estimator/Project Manager, you will leverage your strong project management and estimation skills to oversee all aspects of each project. Success in this role requires you to be highly organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in analytical and mathematical skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. You’ll work closely with clients, bringing a solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and techniques. Additionally, you’ll utilize software and technology tools to enhance project efficiency. Your ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards will be key to your success.
Estimation & Quotations:
- Prepare accurate and timely quotations for projects of all sizes, using technical drawings, blueprints, and related documents.
- Work closely with the sales team to gather client information and respond to Requests for Quotations( RFQs). Entering all details and information into CRM.
- Consolidate and hand-off successful bid packets (drawings, routings, specifications, etc.) to engineering.
- Analyze cost-benefit ratios of materials, equipment, and services to enhance project profitability.
- Review bid win/loss data with estimating manager to ensure strategic plan is being met..
-Create a positive environment in Customer negotiations to maximize revenue.
Project Coordination & Manager:
- Serve as the primary contact between sales, engineering, shop teams, and customers, ensuring clear communication and project follow-up.
- Oversee project specifications and quality standards, performing regular monitoring for accuracy.
- Work with operations to ensure successful completion of each project.
- Generate and manage internal shop orders, requisitions, and material purchase orders to meet project requirements.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding current and future service needs.
- Gain customer acceptance by demonstrating cost efficiencies and improvements in operations.
- Engage positively in customer negotiations to support revenue generation and client satisfaction.
Minimum Requirements:
- Technical proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills for paperwork and documentation management.
- Ability to interpret customer drawings, layouts, and specifications, and perform take-offs using architectural plans.
- Three years of experience prefered in estimating within a manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of wood products and relevant technical standards is a plus.

Typical Schedule:
- Primarily Monday thru Friday 7 AM- 4 PM
- No remote must be on site for project management.
