Position Overview
This role will oversee the company’s financial operations, contract administration, and project financial performance. The right person understands not just accounting—but how construction projects generate profit, how cash flows through the business, and how to protect and improve margins.
This is a hands-on role with direct visibility into company performance and involvement in decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Manage A/R, A/P, and general ledger
- Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts
- Prepare monthly financial reports
- Assist with budgeting and financial planning
Project Financial Oversight
- Track job costs vs. budgets
- Monitor project profitability and margins
- Assist with WIP reporting
- Identify cost overruns and financial risks
Billing & Cash Flow
- Oversee client billing and collections
- Manage retainage and lien waivers
- Improve cash flow timing and consistency
Contracts & Risk
- Review and manage client and subcontractor contracts
- Ensure alignment between contracts, billing, and project execution
- Identify risks related to payment terms and scope gaps
Process Improvement
- Improve financial systems and reporting
- Provide insights to leadership on financial performance
- Support estimating with historical cost data

Qualifications
- 3–7 years in accounting/finance (construction preferred)
- Strong understanding of job costing and construction financials
- Experience with QuickBooks, Sage, or similar
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to think critically and provide insight, not just process data
