Description
The Camp & Sports Program Director is responsible for supervising in the daily management, operations, financial goals, and assist in the business development for the Cooper Fitness Center’s childcare, seasonal camps, sports pros and year-round youth programs. This individual will ensure that quality core-focused programming is provided for patrons of the Cooper Fitness Center; this involves creating a safe, healthy, caring, productive, enjoyable and educational environment for the participants. This position is the direct supervisor of all childcare providers, camp counselors, program coaches, sports pros and program coordinator. This individual will help continuously develop Cooper’s adult and youth programs through innovative programming, marketing, and quality customer service. Must be a team player and have strong organizational skills, communication skills, and customer service skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide daily leadership, direction, and support to all childcare, camp and year-round youth programs and sports pros
· Assist in the development of short-term and long-term strategic planning of the specific departments
· Provide financial updates weekly (including budget goals and payroll)
· Conduct regular staff meetings to ensure progress and success
· Oversees hiring, training, facilities, and program registrations/inquiries
· Coordinate marketing for programming
· Maintain a safe, clean environment and equipment
· Equipment inventory and purchasing
· Plan and provide age-appropriate active based programs
· Handle and document any behavioral issues of participants and/or teammates
· Greet and update participants regularly
· Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and manage all childcare, program instructors, camp counselors and sports pros
· Maintain work schedules as needed
· Fill in for programs if needed
· Collect payment from all patrons
· Provide tracking of department utilization
· Promote physical, emotional, intellectual and social growth through active based curriculum
· Maintain stated ratios in specific programs/departments
· Communicate with Assistant General Manager daily
· Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons (internal and external)
· Be a team player and perform additional duties as needed
· Attend departmental, team, and company-wide meetings
· Fill in for other program functions when necessary
· Perform any other duties and responsibilities that may be required

Requirements
· Must be highly motivated
· Must have excellent communication (written and verbal), organizational, customer service and interpersonal skills
· Must have strong management and leadership skills
· Must be a self-directed and detail-oriented individual that works well independently and, on a team,
· Proficiency with industry standard word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications
· Must have a professional, enthusiastic, and caring attitude
· Must have previous experience working with youth (management of youth programming a plus)
· Must physically be able to participate in all duties required.

o Stand, squat, sit, and play
Required Education, Certifications & Experience:
· College degree in corporate wellness, kinesiology, education, business or related field required
· Experience in Camps/Programming/childcare preferred
· Must have experience in customer service
· CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (must be obtained within 60 days of hire)
