Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. As a staff accountant, you will assist clients in bookkeeping tasks such as maintaining general ledger, payroll and reporting, and tax return preparation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, QBO, or similar systems.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including ledger maintenance and financial statement preparation.
- Conduct detailed account analysis to identify discrepancies or anomalies and resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while handling data entry, bookkeeping, and other accounting tasks efficiently.
Skills
- Strong understanding of GAAP standards.
- Proficiency with various accounting software such as QBO and UltraTax is preferred.
- Experience with technical accounting concepts including journal entries, account reconciliation, double-entry bookkeeping, and balance sheet analysis.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite with a focus on Excel data analysis and spreadsheet management.
- Knowledge of payroll systems and reporting.
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while demonstrating strong customer service skills when interacting with internal teams or external vendors.
