As a Kennel Technician at our dog boarding and daycare facility, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care and support for the dogs entrusted to us by their owners.
Your primary responsibilities will revolve around maintaining a clean and safe environment for our canine guests, ensuring their well-being, and supporting the overall operations of the facility.
Responsibilities:
- Animal Care and Supervision: Provide attentive and compassionate care to dogs staying at the facility. This includes feeding, walking, monitoring behavior, and administering medications as per instructions from pet owners or management.
- Kennel Maintenance: Keep the kennel areas clean, sanitized, and organized at all times. Regularly clean kennels, bedding, and common areas to maintain a hygienic environment for the dogs.
- Exercise and Playtime: Facilitate and engage dogs in supervised playtime and exercise activities to keep them mentally and physically stimulated.
- Monitoring Health and Behavior: Observe dogs for any signs of distress, illness, or behavioral issues, and promptly report any concerns to the management or on-site veterinarian.
- Customer Service: Interact with pet owners during check-ins and check-outs, providing updates on their pets and addressing any inquiries or special requests with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of each dog's activities, meals, and health observations to ensure continuity of care and effective communication with other staff members.
- Follow Safety Protocols: Adhere to safety protocols and best practices to prevent accidents or injuries to dogs and staff members. Be prepared to handle emergency situations promptly and efficiently.
- Facility Upkeep: Help with general facility maintenance, such as: cleaning common areas, kennels and maintaining equipment used for dog care.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other kennel technicians and staff members to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of the facility.
