Responsibilities
Ø Provides support on HVAC construction job by reading and interpreting blueprints as needed by foreman to ensure a timely and quality completion of the project.
Ø Provides the required laying out of the roof penetrations and ducting; and, laying out of the sheet metal fittings as directed by the foreman.
Ø Provides assistance to the Construction foreman as needed on the job.
Ø Provides support by coordinating and following job schedules; i.e., labor hours, and material costs.
Ø Performs other related duties and projects as assigned by management
Qualifications
Ø Knowledge of electrical systems and ability to wire installations.
Ø Knowledge of carpentry.
Ø Knowledge of refrigeration systems and piping of refrigeration equipment.
Ø Knowledge of plumbing and pipe fittings, and ability to pipe refrigeration equipment.
Ø Knowledge of and ability to read blueprints on refrigeration, electrical and plumbing.
Ø Ability to hang evaporation coils and install overhead hangers.
Ø Ability to use hand and power tools and good mechanical skills.
Ø Knowledge of jobsite safety, ability to oversee work activities to ensure safe work practices and safety rule compliance.
Ø Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Education, Experience And/Or Licenses
Ø High school diploma and trade or technical school classes; 4 years experience in the construction industry, and hands on field experience in commercial HVAC construction; and major market remodeling.
Ø Knowledge of UMC/SMACNA requirements.
Ø Knowledge of commercial HVAC construction products and tools.
Ø Knowledge of refrigeration equipment
Ø Knowledge of blueprints, detailing HVAC duct fittings.
Ø Ability to grease duct weld, and complete minor electrical installation.
Ø Ability to complete sheet metal layouts and fabrications, good mechanical skills.
