What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trailer Service Technician position at Coolhorse?
We're looking for a skilled, self-motivated Service Technician who takes pride in their craft and the people they work alongside. At Coolhorse, our best technicians don't just fix problems- they show up early, work efficiently, and make the shop a great place to be every day.
What the job looks like:
- Diagnosing and repairing a wide variety of units including RVs, coaches, horse trailers, boat trailers, and cargo and utility trailers
- Servicing, diagnosing, and repairing generators
- Working on RV and coach systems including appliances, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and chassis components
- Welding (steel and aluminum), light painting, and bodywork
- Performing axle, brake, and lighting work across all trailer types
- Working side by side with a tight-knit, family-atmosphere team
- Managing your own workflow with a focus on efficiency and quality
What we're looking for:
- 3 years of hands-on mechanic or service technician experience
- Generator service and repair experience a plus
- Welding proficiency in both steel and aluminum
- RVIA certification preferred
- Knowledge of RV appliances, electrical systems, and trailer basics
- Your own tools
- RV Bodyshop experience is a plus — but not required
- A professional, team-first attitude and genuine pride in your work
