Position Responsibilities
Depending on experience, the successful candidate will have opportunities to:
- Manage a diverse caseload with increasing independence and responsibility.
- Conduct legal research and analysis involving complex legal issues.
- Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, and other legal documents.
- Participate in all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation.
- Communicate directly with clients and contribute to case strategy and management.
- Collaborate closely with experienced attorneys on challenging legal matters.
- Take ownership of assigned matters, manage deadlines, and deliver high-quality work.
We are looking for an attorney who brings more than legal knowledge to the table.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Active license to practice law in Vermont.
- Three or more years of legal experience, preferably in litigation.
- Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Litigation experience, including taking and defending depositions, preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and sound professional judgment.
- A strong work ethic, self-motivation, and commitment to excellence.
- Initiative, resourcefulness, and the ability to navigate complex legal challenges.
